Charles T. Cup

Charles T. Cup loved his life of wealth and power. He relaxed in the book lined study watching television. He felt sorry for the homeless when he heard about them on the evening news, but he knew they must not have done something wrong to end up like that. Homelessness was something that happened to other people – not him.

Until one day, it happened to him. For Charles, this was the best thing that could have happened to him. He found out that life was about more than money and fame, but he learned it the hard way.

Homelessness impacts about 3.5 million people every year in the United States. That’s almost as many people that live in Dallas, Texas. Almost half of the people that are homeless are families with children and over half of those people say they have trouble getting food to eat.

Charles T. Cup is a moving story about a fall from a good life, but finding happiness in a new life. Use this story to explore homelessness and community service with your family. Then make a plan to volunteer at a mission or a food bank. Or maybe, collect some food or personal hygiene items to donate. Take the opportunity to share your talents and blessings with those in need.
